There are many interesting valleys to experience and explore inside Salzburg’s Hohe Tauern National Park – the Habachtal Valley, which is Europe’s most famous mineral locality and possesses unique emerald deposits, is a good example. We find the Kitzbühel Alps to the south: the beautiful mountain hikes here range from 1,000 metres to 2,000 metres in elevation. There are several lifts to help with the ascent. Atop Wildkogel, the national park’s extremely scenic terrace, you’ll have panoramic views of many three-thousanders, including the Grossglockner and Großvenediger peaks.
