The origins of the dirndl date back to the 19th century. Today, this traditional Alpine dress is suitable for almost any occasion. As the saying goes, “With a dirndl, you’re always well-dressed.” Particularly intriguing for the gentlemen: the position of the apron bow reveals the wearer’s relationship status. Tied on the right means “hands off – taken,” while tying it on the left signals that the lady is single. And what does this have to do with Hotel Gassner? Hostess Sonja owns more than 40 dirndls and loves to wear them. Where she ties her bow, however, is for you to find out.
