The village of Seis am Schlern lies at an elevation of 1,000 metres and is situated on a sunny terrace at the foot of Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi), one of Europe’s largest and most beautiful alpine pastures. The village’s proximity to Schlern–Rosengarten (Siusi–Catinaccio) Nature Park, a part of the World Heritage Dolomites surrounded by powerful forests and lush meadows, has imprinted Seis with South Tyrol’s alpine character like no other village. Santner Spitze Peak, perched high above the village, reflects the mystical nature of mountains and cultures. A number of hiking paths and themed trails lead through this realm of myths and legends that have grown up around the Schlern Massif.
