The Enns Valley, located in the northwest of the Austrian state of Styria between the Northern Limestone Alps and the primary rock of Niederen Tauern, is undoubtedly one of the country’s most interesting hiking areas from a geological perspective. The awe-inspiring juxtaposition between the abundance of water in the Tauern Schladmiger Mountains to the south with the idyllic glacial lake area of Klafferkessel and the imposing limestone walls of the Dachstein Massif − together with its many Klettersteig climbing routes − to the north make this area a paradise for nature enthusiasts.
