They are among the best-known mountain massifs in the Dolomites of the South Tyrol and, with well-marked hiking trails and excellent climbing routes, they attract the active mountaineers. The quiet mountain village of Eggen is a small natural idyll in the midst of the fascinating mountain peaks and alpine meadows. From here the numerous paths for hikers lead to the legendary slopes of the Latemar and up to the Rosengarten. They are the true heroes of this impressive natural landscape and invite the active naturalists on foot or with the bike to exciting tours. The charming winter paradise of Val d’Ega stands for an unforgettable winter break amidst the snow-covered South Tyrolean Dolomites. Challenging steep slopes, gentle hills, first attempts at skiing, skilful carving turns, under the warming rays of the sun, by floodlight. The Carezza Dolomites ski area with – in the truest sense of the word – the best views for a fantastic winter holiday in South Tyrol. At the foot of the striking Latemar (2,841 m) around the high plateau of Lavazè, Deutschnofen or Carezza, cross-country skiers can also try their hand at around 100 kilometres of groomed trails.
