Will you conquer a summit or indulge in some chalet-hopping? We have it all. On guided hiking tours, watch chamois in the wild and admire the mountain roses on the Krinnenspitze. Back at the hotel, the natural theme continues, in comfort rooms with mountain panorama, in the Almrestaurant or in the wellness area with views of the mountain peaks from your water bed.
Austria’s most popular hiking area boasts a number of attractions: The fabulous high valley between the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps is characterised by the juxtaposition of lush green alpine meadows and dark blue lakes. Lakes Haldensee and Vilsalpsee are both wonderful for a cosy stroll, while the high trail a little further up is already at an altitude that allows for a chance encounter with a chamois or marmot. The Three Lakes Tour (Drei-Seen-Tour), which German alpinists have voted one of the most popular mountain tours, offers a shift in perspective. Equipped with snowshoes or skis, nature enthusiasts can enjoy this lovely mountain landscape in winter as well.
The Lumberger Hof is the ideal base camp for your winter holiday, whether sporty or leisurely. Winter nature experiences such as snowshoeing or cross-country skiing invite you to explore. After an eventful day, you can relax in the ‘Bergbadl’ wellness area. Whether in the 90° hot alpine sauna, the bio sauna or the steam bath. Relaxation and warmth contribute to regeneration. In the evening, we spoil you with regional delicacies and Austrian classics, from Kaiserschmarrn to Tafelspitz. Followed by a gentian schnapps and the day’s holiday is perfect. See you soon at the Lumberger Hof.
Hiking in winter, is that possible? Of course! On guided winter hikes we show you the beauty of our region. On a snowshoe hike together, we discover animal tracks in the snow and marvel at ice crystals glistening in the sun. Cross-country skiers will find 100 kilometres of trails in the Tannheimer Tal. Skiers and snowboarders make their turns on the Füssner Jöchle in Grän and look out over the Tannheimer Tal on one side and the Allgäu on the other. A fun toboggan run or curling on the Haldensee will add variety to your winter holiday.
"In the Tannheimer Tal there is the right tour for every hiker, whether it's a leisurely walk to the hut or a steep climb to the summit. I will be happy to give you a hiking tip or take you on a guided tour to my favourite places"Franz Barbist
