In July 2024, the stay at the Excelsior was raised to a new level, one in a class of its own. Five luxurious de luxe feel-good rooms and two exclusive luxury suites have been available to guests since the beginning of this summer month. The brand new Dolomites Family Spa transports young and old to an oasis of fun and relaxation. In addition, the restaurant and buffet area, including a fascinating show kitchen, has been extended and redesigned.

The idyllic mountain village of St. Vigil stands out for its glorious location, embedded in the unique landscape of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park on the southern slope of Kronplatz mountain. This natural Alpine setting with its wide plateaus is the scene of many Ladin legends and fairy tales of perished kingdoms and paradisiacal landscapes that have since turned to stone. Today, the village of St. Vigil at the end of the valley is the ideal starting point for hikes, mountaineering and mountain biking tours that take visitors to the heart of the magnificent South Tyrolean Dolomites, the largest UNESCO Natural Heritage site in South Tyrol. Mountain lakes, rocky pinnacles and flower-studded meadows are easily accessible, thanks to a transport network based on sustainable mobility, making this region the destination of choice for holidaymakers who enjoy Alpine sports.

In winter, guests may access the Kronplatz ski resort directly from the hotel, one of the most beautiful and largest resorts in South Tyrol.
