There’s life in the Alte Post yet! And we bet that the same thing could be said about you. Whether you are young of body or young of mind, the mountains are yours to explore! Join us here in Großarl, at the heart of the historic village centre: We share your passion for the great outdoors, with guided (Alpaca-) hikes, tobogganing sessions or fun on the slopes. Our motto? #We’llShowYouTheAlps
Famed for its forty operating alpine farms, Grossarl Valley is known also as the Valley of the Alms (alpine pastures). Grossarl Valley has two hamlets, Grossarl and Hüttschlag, and is the easternmost valley in the Tauern Mountains. It is remarkably long, running 27 kilometres from the Salzach River all the way to Mount Keeskogel. For years, it has enjoyed a great deal of popularity as a result of its natural landscapes and excellent hiking. The slogan of the valley’s around forty alpine huts is Sky-High Hospitality: in fact, these forty huts supply hikers – who have 250 kilometres of sign-posted trails running as far as Hohe Tauern National Park to enjoy – with delicious sustenance.
