Winter vacations in the old days

Winter like in the old days: Christmas markets and winter festivals where Christmas carols are sung. Making snow angels and building snowmen, feasting on Christmas cookies and drinking warming cocoa. The crunch of snow under your boots and—most importantly for our family hotel in Carinthia—the hearty laughter and sparkling eyes of the children.

Our family hotel in Carinthia is located between the Dobratsch Nature Park and the Gerlitzenalpe – a quiet retreat where you can experience the gentle beauty of the Alpe-Adria landscape in the border triangle of Austria, Italy, and Slovenia while winter hiking and snowshoeing in the Alps. As your winter boots sink into the powder snow, with every step you take, your view opens up to the essentials – and to what really does you good.

At our Hoteldorf Schönleitn, you are at home in the mountains and at the same time just a stone's throw away from the turquoise-blue Faaker See lake. While the children discover nature with our adventure program, you can find time to relax. Dogs are also welcome guests here and can enjoy the forests and trails around the village. What is important to us? The feeling of having arrived – here with us, in the heart of Carinthia, where lake and mountain form a symbiosis.
