The "3 Zinnen Dolomites" ski area is an excellent ski resort, just over 30 km from the Trenker hiking hotel. The Rotwandwiesen in Sexten turn out to be a fun place for families under a blanket of white snow. There are reindeer from northern Finland here that can be fed during the winter. At the Trenker hiking hotel, they will be happy to tell you the best times and routes to see the animals.
In Niederdorf, the first certified "Kneipp for me" experience village in Alta Pusteria, you can try out the traditional Kneipp method every day from the end of May to the end of September: water treading, arm and face baths provide refreshing relaxation in the middle of the mountains. Marion and Alex, your hosts at the Trenker hiking hotel, will be happy to provide you with information about dates and special features of the Kneipp experience.
"Summer fun guaranteed" is the promise made by Haunold, the family adventure mountain in the "3 Zinnen" Dolomites region. The Funbob summer toboggan run is an absolute highlight there: young and old alike can whizz down into the valley on an aluminum track in a bobsleigh, where you can control the speed yourself. Over a length of 1,739 m, the Funbob covers a difference in altitude of 314 m. The Trenker hiking hotel will be happy to give you tips on how to get there, opening hours, and other leisure activities on the mountain.
Visible from many places in South Tyrol, the 3,343 m high Marmolada is an impressive sight. You don't necessarily have to hike to experience the summit: The Marmolada cable car system has a total of three sections: from the Malga Ciapèla valley station (1,450 m), the first cable car takes you to Banc d'Antermoja (2,350 m), the next to Serauta (2,950 m) and another to the third station, Punta Rocca (3,265 m). The station is located opposite Punta Penia (3,343 m), the highest mountain in the Dolomites. The Trenker hiking hotel will be happy to advise you on all the details and excursion options around the Marmolada.
Ötzi was discovered in the Schnalstal glacier in 1991. At the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano, you can learn all about his life, his equipment, and the history of the Alps 5,300 years ago. The permanent exhibition is entirely dedicated to the Iceman. It spans three floors of the museum and displays everything there is to know about the world's most famous glacier mummy.
