Sunrise hike in South Tyrol
Anyone who thinks you have to get up early for a sunrise hike has not yet tried the option offered by the Wanderhotel Erlebnisort Gassenhof in the Ridnaun Valley. Together with host Stefan, you can experience the first rays of sunshine on the Stollespitze (2,005 m) – even if you are a late riser!
The Stollespitze
If you are one of those people for whom even lacing up your hiking boots early in the morning is a real workout, then this sunrise hike with Stefan from Erlebnisort Gassenhof is just the thing for you. The drive to the Jogelealm takes only about 20 minutes, and the hike to the summit takes another 10 minutes or so. Depending on the sunrise, the tour starts between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. at the hotel reception—much more relaxed than many other sunrise tours, where you have to get up at 3:00 a.m.
After enjoying the beautiful spectacle in the sky, there is a breakfast buffet at the Jogelealm. After the joy of reaching the summit, participants can look forward to a breakfast buffet at the Jogelealm. Hut owners Anita and Katja serve bread, cheese, fresh eggs, jams, and regional specialties—just the right reward for a sunrise hike in South Tyrol. Here you can enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and recharge your batteries for the day.
After breakfast, you'll be awake, refreshed, and already in the middle of an alpine pasture. From here, there are many options for further hikes: the Einachtspitze or the Mareiter Stein are only a short climb away. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can take the circular hike to the Valtigalm or simply drive back to the Gassenhof hiking hotel with Stefan and return to their cozy bed. The sunrise hike in the Ridnauntal valley is the perfect start to an active day during your hiking vacation in South Tyrol.
