Gerhard Schiner, hotelier at the Active Hotel Diana, knows all about the impressive landscape of the Seiser Alm, which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. He has made clever use of the hotel's location and created an activity program that leaves nothing to be desired.
Hiking guide and hiking hotel concierge Renè Überbacher shows guests of all ages, from hiking novices to Alpine experts, the most beautiful trails around Siusi allo Sciliar and the Alpe di Siusi five days a week. He knows the 450 km network of trails like the back of his hand, after all, he calls the imposing Dolomites his home.
But Renè not only shows hiking enthusiasts the beauty of nature, such as gentians, edelweiss, and more, he also adds a healthy dose of humor and fun to the tours. The "South Tyrolean charm" – a mixture of (self-)irony, creative wordplay, and friendly banter – is an integral part of the guided hikes at the Active Hotel Diana.
When you are confronted with statements such as "Why do South Tyroleans call the Dolomites their gym? Because membership is free and the view is unbeatable" on fantastic sunrise hikes or an interesting farm hike, the banter has once again taken over.
To live up to the name Active Hotel, host Gerhard has expanded the range of sports on offer over the last few years to include guided mountain bike and e-bike tours with riding technique and downhill training, e-bike and equipment rental, repair service, and much more. Biking in the legendary Dolomites with challenging climbs, crisp trails, and casual descents is sure to make the fingers of every fan of the now highly modernized bike tingle. To ensure that lovers of more moderate sports also get their money's worth at the Active Hotel Diana, there is the option of taking part in yoga sessions on the Kastelruther Kofel and forest bathing in Seis am Schlern.
With the local golf course just one kilometer away, the four-star hotel at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi is also the perfect place for a dream golf vacation. 60 hectares of perfectly manicured green space with long fairways, gorges, waterfalls, and ponds lend a special magic to every eagle shot.
