This circular hike takes you past an emerald green lake and up to golden alpine pastures—a panoramic tour with views for the soul.
Autumn bathes the Antholz Valley in warm light, softening the contours of the mountains and causing the forests to blossom in vibrant colors. This is the perfect time for a circular hike that not only challenges your legs but also touches your heart. This circular hike in the Antholz Valley combines emerald green lakes, sparse forests, and alpine pastures for a varied experience—ideal for anyone who wants to actively discover nature.
The starting point is the emerald green Lake Antholz – tranquil, clear, and surrounded by larch and spruce trees that are slowly turning golden. The Almensteig trail leads through sparse mountain forests to the rustic Steinzger Alm, a perfect place for a first break with regional delicacies. The trail then continues up to the tranquil Obere Steinzger Alm, which turns out to be a real place of power. The highest point of the tour, at over 2,260 meters, rewards you with a panorama of Lake Antholz, Lake Obersee, and the surrounding peaks – a view like something out of a painting. The return route leads back to the starting point via the Staller Sattel and the idyllically situated Obersee.
Located in the heart of the Antholz Valley, the Wanderhotel Vierbrunnenhof is an ideal retreat for hiking enthusiasts. Host Thomas not only runs the hotel with passion, but also his own farm – and in the evenings he likes to pick up his accordion to bring a smile to his guests' faces with music. Authentic, down-to-earth, and full of personal moments – a hotel that touches the heart in the best possible way.
The Wanderhotel Autentis is located right at the entrance to the Antholz Valley – a place where South Tyrolean building tradition and contemporary architecture come together in an impressive way: old masonry meets straight lines of wood and modern lighting design. The hotel's own bacon production is symbolic of what matters here: quality, origin, and genuine craftsmanship. Those who want to relax after a hike will find a special retreat in the stylish natural spa.
