Guided snowshoe tour

There are winter days that touch our hearts. The world transforms into an enchanting snowy landscape, our breath freezes in the clear air, and the silence of the forest is accompanied only by the crunch of footsteps. This is precisely the magic that guests at the Wanderhotel Kirchner in Bramberg in Pinzgau experience on guided snowshoe hikes with the hotel's hiking guides Martina and Andrea. Sometimes Christian, the host, personally joins the tour – of course, he is also a trained hiking guide.

Why take a guided snowshoe hike?

We believe that the best stories are written by life itself—or in this case, by the guests of the Kirchner hiking hotel! We asked them to share their impressions and experiences of the guided snowshoe hike directly with us, and their answers allow us to experience the fascination of snowshoeing firsthand. Here are some of these authentic insights. Eight guests between the ages of 38 and 61 agreed to answer a few questions about their tour.

  • Sascha, 49 years old: Coming out of the fog or shadows at the top of the mountain into the sun and then enjoying the panorama
  • Susi & Oswald, 59 and 61 years old: View of the mountains – snowy, sunny, untouched snowy landscape
  • Annette & Ulrich, 38 and 50 years old: Panoramic view from the top (Wildkogel, Wilder Kaiser, Großer Rettenstein). Wonderful snow at the top, sparkling, powdery soft

  • Sonja & Bert, 57 and 58 years old: Climbing through the snow is more strenuous than without it. You overcome the hurdle through the joy and tranquility at the summit
  • Sandra, 55 years old: The sometimes steep slopes during the descent on the second day
  • Sascha, 49 years old: It's more strenuous going uphill than in summer. The descent across an untouched meadow with deep snow
  • Susi & Oswald, 59 and 61 years old: Downhill descent – slow and hard on the heels
  • Annette & Ulrich, 38 and 50 years old: Nothing – everything was great & enjoyable. A summit above the alpine meadow would have been nice.

  • Sonja & Bert, 57 and 58 years old: We go snowshoeing again and again. We prefer guided tours, but sometimes we go on our own.
  • Sandra, 55 years old: Definitely again, preferably with Martina again
  • Sascha, 49 years old: Always guided – alone only on marked trails
  • Susi & Oswald, 59 and 61 years old: Definitely, preferably guided
  • Annette & Ulrich, 38 and 50 years old: Again and again! Both: Alone because of the peace and quiet and because you can go high up – like ski touring. Guided because you get to know new routes.

  • Sonja & Bert, 57 and 58 years old: It makes us laugh when we or others in the group sink into deep snow
  • Sandra, 55 years old: There were 12 of us, and at some point, everyone lost their balance in the deep snow
  • Sascha, 49 years old: When you (or others) plop into the snow
  • Susi & Oswald, 59 and 61 years old: Running downhill through deep snow
  • Annette & Ulrich, 38 and 50 years old: The New Year's champagne was lovely

  • Sonja & Bert, 57 and 58 years old: Wear the right clothing and treat nature with respect
  • Sandra, 55 years old: Don't just set off on your own; a guide will show you the most beautiful aspects of the area
  • Sascha, 49 years old: Clothes: Wear several layers, bring a change of clothes. Take summit schnapps with you as a reward
  • Susi & Oswald, 59 and 61 years old: Clothing: Layer up, don't wear too much, bring a spare hat & gloves
  • Annette & Ulrich, 38 and 50 years old: Have the courage to venture off the beaten track – ski touring tracks help. You need more time than ski tourers because you have to descend again. Take a flashlight with you if necessary
